Registration & Login

Why do I need to Register?

You must create an account before posting or responding to a discussion. You do not need to create an account to view the discussion board.

How do I Register?

To create an account click here.  You will need a valid email address to register.

I have a Username and Password, How do I Login?

After successfully registering you will automatically be logged in. Please visit the login page and enter your username and password to login for subsequent visits.

I already logged in, why do I get logged off automatically?

You will be automatically logged off after an administrator-defined length of inactivity, usually 20 minutes. If you would like the site to always log you in automatically, please check the “Sign me in automatically” checkbox.

I forgot my username and/or password.

If you forgot your password click on Forget Password? on the login page.

My Settings

What is My Settings?

My Settings contains personal information you wish to share such as your web address or weblog address, as well as settings that control how you view the forum such as time zone.

Why do I want to set my time zone?

Setting your time zone will enable the forum to display all dates and times relative to your time zone.

How do I add a user picture?

Under the Welcome [username]! drop-down menu, choose My Settings – Edit Item – Attach File and download your picture. Click OK to save the attachment. Go back to My Settings – Edit Item. Click the attachment. Your picture will open in a browser. Copy and paste the URL of the browser into the Picture field for your settings. Click OK to save your picture.

How do I set the date format?

The date format used to display any date information can be configured under My Settings – My Regional Settings.

What are My Alerts?

My Alerts is a function that allows you to subscribe to discussion boards on the forum. You can choose to receive email notifications for all changes or for specific changes. You can also specify the day and time that you will receive the alerts.

How do I turn on/off My Alerts?

You can turn email alerts on or off under My Settings – My Alerts – Add Alert or Delete Selected Alerts.

Why am I required to login to post or view member information?

This is primarily to protect the privacy of users who have shared their information or to prevent unwanted/unsolicited emails.

What Profile settings are required?

The only profile setting that is required is your private email address. This is the email address that is used when you subscribe to My Alerts and when a forgotten username/password is emailed.

What is a Discussion Board?

A Discussion Board is a top level grouping of related discussion topics. A discussion board contains 1 or more discussion topics.

What is a Discussion Topic?

A discussion topic is a grouping of related threads of discussion. A discussion topic contains 0 or more threads.

What is a Thread?

A Thread is a grouping of related posts. A Thread contains 1 or more Posts. The first post becomes the Thread and replies to the original post increment details on the Thread, such as the reply count or last post.

When I view a Forum I don’t see any Threads/Posts?

A forum may not display any threads if there are no threads in the forum.

Posting

Can I use HTML?

Yes. If you are using Internet Explorer, you will have the choice of using a  Rich Text Editor that will automatically format posts using HTML, or a Source Editor for typing HTML directly for creating new posts. will be a . If you post with a browser other than Internet Explorer, a standard HTML textbox is used.

Can I add attachments to my posts?

Yes. Click on Attach File when responding to or creating a new discussion.

How do I post a new discussion item to a forum?

Under the main Topic page, click New Item. For example, if you would like to add a discussion item to the Client Solutions topic, click on Client Solutions. On the main Client Solutions page, click on New Item to create a new discussion item for that topic.

How do I reply to an existing post?

Click on the Reply button for the particular post. The Reply button is located on the top right-hand corner of each post.

How do I edit my posts?

Click on the post that you would like to edit. Click View Properties – Edit Item. When you are finished, click OK to save the edited post.

How do I delete my posts?

Click on the post that you would like to delete. Click View Properties – Delete Item. When prompted “Are you sure you want to send this item to the site Recycling Bin,” click OK.
